Teacher (ES) and parent (MS) - in ES most of the kids were unmasked, I would say 70/30. Both my MS kids reported that it was basically the same and most kids were masked.

If we are all for “personal choice” what does it matter why they have a mask on?

My 6th grader at deal said almost all kids were masked. All her teachers but one were masked. She (6th grader) also remained masked "I don't even notice it mom"

Ward 6 also. I reported in a different thread 60% (masked) / 40% (unmasked) at drop off. At post-club pickup it was more like 25% (masked) / 75% (unmasked). Two of my DD's friends went in with masks and came out without them (a third kept theirs on). I think the tide will turn quickly as it becomes normalized.

At this point their parents and guardians should be triple vaccinated and shouldn't need to burden their children with the fear of transmitting the virus to somebody vulnerable.

1st grader in DCPS bilingual program reported that all the teachers she saw were unmasked, some students were. No idea of percentages though.

Ward 6. Third grader said his teacher unmasked, and all but three kids in his class were unmasked. He didn’t think it was a big deal to not wear his mask (and was happy not to).

JKLM teacher here. I’d say about 75% of kids masked. It was about 80% in my grade. 95% of staff masked.

Charter here. Mask mandate hasn't been lifted so everyone masked.

Teacher here. Seems like high schoolers and middle schoolers in general seem to stick with masks. Elementary is a mixed bag. But I think elementary parents are generally worried about deficits in early literacy and speech.

I have two kids at a JKLM. All but six kids unmasked in one of their classes, the other said all but two unmasked. One of their teachers stayed masked, the other wore the mask part of the day.

I was glad to see that at pickup it looked like the majority of kids as well as some teachers were unmasked. (I also saw some kids who had walked in in their KN95s in the morning come out wearing it on their wrist.) My kids were certainly thrilled about the change!

Curious what kids at different schools chose. At my HS every single kid I taught was masked today with a small number of noses poking out that used to be covered . No student was completely unmasked.

Multiple students commented they just don’t understand why adults are making a big deal about this and don’t understand why the decision was made now with cases going back up in Europe.

Did any school have a big change in masking % today?
