I'm the one who suggested the youtube videos. Many of them are nursery rhymes, simple songs, or books being read aloud, and many have static images instead of animation. I play things like those while kids build with blocks, use play dough or do other fine and gross motor skill activities. I agree, having young children watch youtube continuously is not a fantastic idea at all.
