I have a male friend who mostly is friends with women. He’s now happily married to a woman and is (as far as I know) exclusively attracted to women. I don’t think the fact of his having mostly female friends is a red flag but he doesn’t say stuff like how he can’t relate to other men or put down men in general which I would consider a red flag.

They made a documentary about this. It was called "Three's Company".

I’ll need the total number of his friends before I can decide if 90% is trouble or not. If you mean that he has one male friend, and all of his other “friends” are just his female roommates…that’s different than having a ton of friends who are all women.

Agree, same thing with women too. Anyone that can't form friendships with their own gender usually has issues.

I married one. He had gay men friends and women friends. I don't think I'd do that again. I think there is value in having women friends, for sure. But I also think there is value in having men friends. Anybody who has friends mostly from the opposite sex, or say "I don't like men/women" .... I am a little bit wary of now. My husband has grown and now has male friends, but it took years of marriage and kids so he could meet their dads.

I have dated several guys with lots of female friends. They tended to be narcissists or at least people who just really got off on attention from the opposite sex.

Men with single or stronger mothers, grandmothers and sisters tend to dislike toxic male masculinity and seek deeper intimacy most male friends can offer. Some of them are gay or feminine or players but others only want surrogate females for emotional support.

Once they start romantic relationships, their need of intimacy gets fulfilled or GF/Wife feel bothered by other females so they aren’t likely to stay this way forever.
