Except for the stairwell, all charm is gone.

Exterior is scary, no real yard and that slope— in spite of the retaining wall puts me off. Don’t like the step down kitchen to family room.
Wet room bathroom design is cool, hope that takes off in the US. So much easier to clean and care for

Holy moly that landscaping is atrocious. If there is a strict HOA I can't believe they aren't all over this.

I know this street as I attended a social event there hosted by my DH's boss -- a law firm partner who lived on that street. (We also live in Bethesda, but our house is humble by comparison.
It is a very good location, and very charming and nice street. The people who live there practice "stealth wealth" and like things to be subtle.
As for this house, I am surprised that no one would upgrade the exterior, and especially the landscaping. They really need to work on the curb appeal.

+1 The outside is nice and I’m sure it looks a million times better in spring/summer. But I don’t much care for any of the interior.

Did they update it after buying in Sept 2020 for $1.05 million? Because otherwise that’s a huge jump to $2.7.

Interesting Post article on the neighborhood.. Does anyone know if there’s a single Black resident among its 94 homes yet?

This house is a huge flip. It was in foreclosure for a long time and finally purchased for 1 million 1.5 years ago. I just don’t see how it’s worth the listing price, when they really didn’t do that much work to it. Notice how the windows and roof are still very old? I bet this house has a lot of issues behind those walls.

I don’t get it at all. It seems cramped, and the outside is a disaster.

I came here to post this house! It has a storybook charm on the outside and I love the updates they made on the inside. I do wonder why they didn't stage it at all though.

That’s been updated in such a tasteful gorgeous way, I love it, but I have to wonder if the HOA that keeps that neighborhood looking like that isn’t a nightmare.

If anyone has wandered down Hampden Lane in Greenwich Forrest you know how special this street is. Every house is unique, charming, surrounded by the largest trees in probably a mile radius, and I always feel like I am walking through a fairytale land or at least in Europe. There is no new build on site because of the historic designation. I have always wondered what the houses looked like on the inside. So rarely do these properties come on the market so it was a delight to see this one. It’s much over my budget but wanted to share as so rarely do houses on this street come to market.I am sure that it isn’t to the taste of many with this much to spend but it’s more fun to share houses like this than a more common new build.
