Raku is very good, they have a separate gluten free menu and gluten free tamari. I have celiac and have eaten there a few times without issues. They have different locations.

They would need to bring Tamari, not soy.

Snore. Anyone that’s celiac has this information.

And a product they feel safe with.

Also not all tamari is gluten free.

Sushi Jin in silver spring would work. They are knowledgeable and you can ask what is gluten free there.

To be fair, tamari is frequently labeled as GF soy sauce. Additionally, I wouldn't consider tamari to automatically be gluten free unless it is labeled as GF. (Some tamari packages still have wheat as in ingredient.) This is one of the reasons it is so difficult to communicate with servers at restaurants.

My son with celiac likes sushi from Whole Foods. They’re pretty good about labels.

I’d call ahead to see if they have gluten-free soy sauce. A lot of places can make the sushi gluten-free but they don’t always have a good option for dipping.

Can't you just order rolls without tobiko?

I don’t know of a good local place. That would be something better for someone in your neighborhood to answer. But I will say all the sushi at Wegmans is gluten-free! They even have gluten-free soy sauce packets.

My daughter would really like sushi for her birthday but has Celiac. We haven't been out in a couple years but last time we ordered (in silver spring) communication was tough. Sushi should be generally safe but some things, like tobiko are a problem.

Can anyone recommend someplace we'll versed in gluten free..silver spring, Takoma, DC all ok (we live near North Cap so ideally not Georgetown etc.)
