Any kind of non-spicy chicken will be such a relief for my kids that they won't care about the particulars. Just plain chicken nuggets of any kind will be great for them.

I don’t know most of these people. I gave someone catering for an event as my gift.

But we will have a bunch of stuff, this is just one thing. I don’t want a situation where a kid sees chicken that looks like nuggets and is disappointed that it’s spicy so I figure I will have some kinda not spicy chicken too, but we’ll have sushi, including vegan sushi and cheese and crackers, and fruit, and hummus and a bunch of other things. So I am less worried about people who don’t like chicken at all.

Peanut allergies, and yes I know people are comfortable with oil but the mom here isn’t.

I think you need to ask the families. When my kids were little they were vegetarian and they might eat a waffle, no butter. I'd feed my kids before we go anywhere so it wasn't an issue. I wouldn't eat that either.

My pickier kid would prefer any option that is not chicken thighs. (But he is polite and as a guest will simply find something to eat)

They are really good. And while this party sounds fun, it also sounds like a TON of work. Bell and Evans or a chik-fil-a tray gives you all the joy, none of the mess.

Any of those would be fine for my kid, if she wasn't into the chicken she could just eat a plain waffle.

Agreed! And for the absolute pickiest kids, they can eat waffles, or they can eat dinner later at home.

I'm planning the menu for a party that will have a a number of kids under 12, some of whom I have not met. It's going to be an open house type thing, from 4:30 - 6:30. The plan is to set up some small stations with finger foods, and not have a seated meal.

One of the foods I was thinking of was sweet and spicy chicken and waffle sliders. Basically spicy fried boneless thighs between two waffles with butter.

I want to make sure that I have "kid friendly" options, and so i was thinking that I might also offer some plain waffles, with both hot and regular honey butter, and some non spicy chicken, so people who are vegetarian, or spice averse, or don't like their food mixing, can have options.

Here's my question: What kind of non-spicy chicken would you do?

Fried chicken thighs, just without spice

Homemade nuggets with pieces of chicken breast (the recipe I use is a Chik Fil A copy cat recipe, except I don't use peanut oil due to allergies and I air fry them)

Storebought chicken nuggets, which might be the most familiar to the kids. (brand suggestion?)

We're going to have a bunch of other things, and other choices, so I'm not that worried about adults who don't like chicken and waffles. But a lot of our choices might not appeal to the pickiest kids, and I thought this might be a way to have something that's familiar?
