People traveling is not what is bringing it in.

Yeah travel quarantines only make sense in 2020. I can go to a wedding in my home county, which is much higher risk than camping with only my family a state over. They are both under- and over-inclusive.

It's distressing how incompetent people, not just LAA, are at recognizing the punitive measures of masking and their near zero efficacy at preventing transmission in a child care setting. With that said, we both know finding child care is incredibly difficult, so moving isn't THAT easy. Nor is it easy to find a place in Arlington that has any intellectual curiosity or leadership on this issue, minus the Catholics. So, I'll keep my kid at LAA and will continue to be outspoken, just as you are. Apparently there is a vocal likely minority of LAA parents who agree with me, or else they never would have made the switch without any new information available to them - as compared to a week ago when they doubled down on masking.

Also, to the bolded above - you are dead wrong on that. There have been many meetings going on over the past few weeks with the medical advisory team and representatives from the dept of health, licensing board, etc. that are behind the recent changes. Lauren does not allow parents to dictate LAA policies, period.

I know both Goddard and Bethesda Montessori are because we are checking them both out.

I'm seeing a lot of references to people saying their schools are mask optional, but I can't get any names! I'm looking to get onto some waitlists for next year in case our school doesn't come to its senses on this before then.
