This! I packed up 90% of my stuff in a weekend and was doing a little victory dance. Then pulled an all-nighter the day before the movers came and spent DAYS after they left clearing out the last of it. Hire a hunk hauler for the day before the movers arrive. That would have helped.


Okay, obviously that was supposed to be junk hauler…

This! I packed up 90% of my stuff in a weekend and was doing a little victory dance. Then pulled an all-nighter the day before the movers came and spent DAYS after they left clearing out the last of it. Hire a hunk hauler for the day before the movers arrive. That would have helped.

I did it in a week or so. Here’s the secret. Get all your supplies and do one entire room at a time, one room per day. Do it ALL. Don’t leave a few things here and there as they will add up. I had two small kids at the time and worked a few hours after they were in bed for the night. Very do-able. Allow two days for the kitchen though.

You should start now because the more you can purge, the better. If you have to rush you’ll just pack everything and miss the opportunity.

One four day weekend (not counting lead time to acquire packing supplies)

We have a relatively small amt of stuff

I am aces at organizing and packing
