Just went to my MS kids theater production (kind of like a concert) and it was PACKED

I feel like you have no grasp on how big these meets are.

Not saying I agree with it but there are a lot more people at a winter swim meet than a bball game between only two teams. It seems like most swim meets have been using the spectator area as additional space for teams so they aren’t all on top of each other. I think it’s silly since kids within a team are crammed together. Hopefully they go back to normal next season.

They just need to disqualify the swimmers. Do it once and the problem disappears.

School concerts?

Seriously, every participant in a swim meet is eligible to be vaccinated. There is no difference anymore between an event with kids that are over 5 and an event geared toward adults when it comes to capacity restrictions.

I am fine with limiting guests at meets - or sell tickets to limit it (even better). There is such limited space in most of these venues.

It wasn’t checked at the door? My DS is a college swimmer and for their championship meet they allowed 2 per swimmer. We had to be on a list.

Maybe they had more than one athlete competing?

This would be my question. They had to know that with spectators not allowed for 2 years that there were going to be people with the attitudes of the PPs and were definitely not going to care about the 1 person per athlete rule. Put out a sign up genius like you do for volunteering and make people get checked in at the door.

Not having had spectators is so ridiculous. They aren’t ruining anything…your schools have been ruining it for everyone for 2 years.
