OP here and it’s more like I’m standing over the washer putting in my clothes and MIL comes running over next to me with 6 of her and fil’s underwear and asks ‘can just add the little items inside with your load of laundry? This is all I need washed!’
What can I say, no you can’t?! Start a separate load after me to wash you 6 underwear?

Why can’t they bring 6 pairs of socks and underwear? I have never understood this. On day 2 they are asking to add to our laundry, but we don’t do laundry on Tuesdays. So then they run a load with 4 pairs of socks, 4 underwear, 2 pants and 2 shirts. Our water bill is exponentially higher during their visits.
