We've been really happy there. And it's a short metro from DuPont. There is also apparently a small chance they become a pre k 3 program, which would significantly reduce tuition

Kiddie Academy West End offers free pre-K for 3s and 4s if you are a DC resident.

Are you on any moms’ list serves? I would ask there for the names of some preschools. You just need something that runs in the mornings and is part time.

You're seeing why most working families have either a nanny *or* child care but not both. What you want isn't available at a discount. Find a good center-based program and enroll both kids. A 3 / 4-year-old needs to play with friends and not be stuck at home with a nanny all day, and the infant will adjust.

Not sure what "Little Hoyas" is but if you're maybe thinking of "Little Friends" in Georgetown, that's 29k/yr for fulltime (8:45-2:45 M-F) and 25k for part time (8:45a-11:45a).

School for Friends is awesome, but it's also definitely one of the ones in that $25-35k/yr bracket!

OP here with more details for context:

-We're in the West End, working in Georgetown waterfront and Dupont. So looking primarily close to those areas.
-We both work full time but don't need fulltime coverage (3 y/o's nanny will stay with us, because we also have a new baby)
-We did the PK lotto, and applied to some of the PKEEP/CBO funded options (e.g., CommuniKids), but our area is *super* competitive for the subsidized program because there just aren't many options, so it seems very likely we won't match

TL;DR--I'm seeking options for 3 y/o to socialize and have some age-appropriate structure & learning, but the options I'm seeing are all $25-$35k/yr. Combined with our nanny's salary/benefits, that'd put us over 100k/yr for childcare, which just isn't feasible for us. Open to part-time, full-time, nursery, and traditional school options but looking to gather info on specific schools I can consider with lower price tags.

Most of the private preK/nursery options seem to be in the 25k-35k range, which is...insane. What nurseries or preschools in DC proper have the most reasonable tuition for 3s and 4s?
Prefer full time but open to 3 day/wk part-time programs.
