Why is this a question?

Sometimes we eat lunch or dinner at the playground.

When my kids were little, they had daycare near my work. I would often pick up or pack dinner, eat at the playground, then commute home after rush hour.

My kids school doesn’t start until 9:15 so I’m baffled that you think playing at the playground for a few hours before dinner is some impossible schedule.

Your kids must get really unusually sweaty if they need a shower after playing at the playground.

There are different ways this could work, but first, I'd lose the judgment, OP.

Yesterday was Read across America Day and many schools had pajama day as a treat, so those kids were probably wearing the pajamas that they had on all day. Mine put on clean pajamas in the morning for school and then new clean pajamas for bed.

I don't know why you would care but I have much older children and they eat dinner early. We play till bed time. But not in pjs if that's your main issue. Stop being judgmental.

My kids have never gone to bed before 9pm since birth and we eat at 7pm or sometimes later. I don't think your schedule is an uncommon as you think.

This is a weird question, OP. Yesterday was one of the first really nice days in a long time, and I'm guessing families were enjoying it.

We are sometimes at the playground at 6:30. Our kids are little (2 and 6 months). They go to bed at 8, dinner is at 7. We only do baths 2x a week. So especially this time a year, if there’s a particularly nice day, we’ll order takeout for dinner and take them to the playground after we’re done with work for the day. We stay at the playground till about 6:30/6:45. It’s only a few min walk from our house. Once we get home, it’s just dinner and to bed.

Why is this so complicated for you OP and why do you care?
