Anonymous wrote:Anyone watch this guy on YouTube or Facebook. The promise is he travels around the country trying different pizza places. He’ll take two bites and then give it a rating from 0-10 with very little commentary. He’s rated close to 2,000 places so far ranging from 7-11’s to the best known pizza places in NYC. He very rarely rates any of them above a 9 (even the legendary ones). I finally saw his lone “10” rating at a place in Lynn, MA. The pizza didn’t even look that good and when you search Yelp and other reviews sites, the place gets like 3 star reviews. Seems like his system is flawed or tastebuds are

“Got caught up in” = allegations of unseemly behavior—none criminal—were made by Business Insider, which is worse than the Inquirer from a credibility standpoint (and run by a convicted felon who is now barred from the securities industry). Portnoy has painstakingly refuted most of the allegations with documentation. Some have now been withdrawn, and he’s currently suing BI for libel.
Not the point of this thread, but to casually throw that out there without the facts just perpetuates the internet cancel culture, doxxing, rush to judgment crap. And I’m glad he’s taking a stand.
As for the pizza, I’ve seen a few reviews and know he says New Haven is far and away best pizza spot in the US. Which I agree with 100%.
