Why?

Because she walks with half their assets, at least. Plus the love and respect of their kids, which he usually loses for years when the affair is revealed.

Mistress gets dumped or becomes the hated step mother (not worth it).

Yikes. It's not a competition. Being hurt by someone you love does not make you a "loser" FFS.

Nobody wins

The wife is stuck with him (even if they divorce)

The mistress will be thrown under the bus.

Um, I don't think anyone "wins" in an affair. It's not a winning proposition for anyone, including the person cheating on their partner (which might be the woman instead of the man, or might be the case with both cheaters). I mean, I guess if you're a mistress who wants to feel like you're "winning," no one can stop you. But you're not really likely to be persuading anyone to your side with your views on who's the biggest loser.

I would think that no woman wins as both are being played by the man in question, but I read many comments on this forum where the wives are putting down mistresses saying what she has with the cheating husband is not real and she is not important etc.

Isn't the wife the biggest loser? Since its HER husband who is doing HER wrong. He doesn't owe the mistress anything.
