Though we had the bassinet accessory and used that as our bassinet with our first (full time) and it wasn’t our favorite. But we absolutely love it as a travel crib/pack and play. I would just get a normal bassinet for the first few months, you don’t typically travel much during that time and if you do a little it will be fine for then

I love my Bugaboo Stardust. It came pre-assembled, is lightweight, and literally takes a few seconds to open and close. There are two height levels for the mattress (similar to a traditional crib), so the higher level is great for the newborn stage. Only downsides are $$$ and it's smaller than a traditional pack-and-play. The latter is not a con for me because we have a small house.

+1, especially if you travel a lot and have more than one kid. Our Graco was so heavy and bulky. The only thing about it that I preferred to the lotus was that it had a bassinet insert that we used for the first few months, and it's great to be able to put a newborn down in that without bending all the way down. But for older kids the lotus is way better, especially with that side zip feature. Once our kid was old enough, we just left it unzipped when we traveled and she could get in and out of bed as she wanted. And it's so much lighter and easier to transport.


pp you quoted. The lotus has a bassinet accessory you can buy, it basically turns the pack and play into a bassinet using the same frame but different fabric components.

For a true pack and play (that has a bassinet, changing pad, diaper caddy as additional accessory, is easy to put together), I loved our 4Moms.

It’s too heavy for travel though. We have the Baby Bjorn travel crib for that. Easy to install, but with none of the additional features the 4moms has.

Don’t buy Joovy!! Ours broke after a couple uses and customer service was not helpful. We didn’t get a refund.

We have a Graco that has a changing pad attachment and a little basket that hangs over the edge for diapers and wipes.

What is the best pack n play? The last one we had had was so heavy. Im looking to set up a pack n play downstairs so I don’t need to go up and down to put baby down and will grow from newborn to older infant.
