I know and it's really tough to game the lottery too! Back int he good old days before all this woke universal screening stuff, you just needed to sign up for a few prep classes and send in an application. Now almost anyone can get in!

This case refers to middle school magnet admissions, correct? I thought it was dismissed because Moco switched to a lottery during the pandemic.


Read the first paragraph of the linked opinion. It was not dismissed.


Also, MCPS has made no announcement regarding revamping HS admissions except they dropped testing because of pandemic.

They will just get rid of magnet programs. My old place I loved killed them all 25 years ago as dealing with parents who thought Suzie was special was not worth it.

They should kill then here.

This exactly happened in 2018 in one of the BOE's public hearing sessions, when the socio-economic proxy was first introduced. Where to find the archived videos for BOE public meetings? I can probably use some memory here.
