And Barcelona might work as a few of us will/might be attending a meeting nearby. I'm starting to think that with a big group convenience of location is a higher priority than food or ambiance.

Thanks, all, I have some time to plan, so I'll do a little research on all these options. And, to the PP who suggested North Arlington -- that is very helpful as I'm now recalling another gathering we attended at SER, which was lovely and relaxed and just about perfect, so that might be the ticket this time too.

Maydan or Mi Vida if you can find a reservation. If not, Supra, Zaytinya, or Thip Kao.

If you want extreme convenience, The Roost - self seating and self-ordering/paying on your phone so no worrying about reservations or splitting checks.

Of all of those areas, Old Town has the cutest ambience.

With out of towners we often go to 14th St/ Shaw as the more trendy restaurants are on that side of town. Noise level is a bit loud though.

Barcelona in Cathedral Commons was a reliable spot for girls night out (at least pre COVID)

I'll check it out. Thank you! Any other suggestions as to location? That's what's confounding me -- b/c people are coming from all over.

Any type of food -- it's an adventurous and well-traveled group. Atmosphere -- quiet enough so we can talk -- we were a rowdy bunch in college (many years ago), but we haven't all been together in two years, so we have a lot to chat about.

I'm looking forward to a visit from a college friend who lives in Chicago. She'll be staying at my house for a few days at the end of March and while she's here, she -- and I -- would like to get together with a group of other college pals for dinner. There will be about 10 of us in all. I'm thinking of hosting at my place, but, if we were to go out somewhere, where would you suggest we meet up? Most of the group, including me, live in upper NW/close-in MoCo; two are in McLean and 1 in Old Town. Ambiance is more important than food for this gathering, but these are all women who appreciate good food and who have traveled and lived abroad.
