Yup. That’s exactly what my DD junior did.

How many kids take AP classes in 9th?

It is crazy but this is what the top tier of students take. If she can do well with it and wants to target the most competitive schools, including UVA, then probably does need to.

My kids, however, stuck to "only" 3 AP/IB classes in junior year, going up to 4-5 in senior year. They both have ADHD so that was a factor in making that choice. That was more than enough challenge and, as it is, for my current junior she's struggling some with the workload.
