The same boy has harassed my friend's daughter for months, telling her the (violent) things he's going to do to her. The girl is a mess and traumatized, refusing to go out of the house, etc. it's bad enough that girl and female friend are going to try to change schools or districts. according to friend, the school (and the principal) hasn't done anything about it, neither child was asked to switch classes and the boy was not suspended or even asked to see the school counsellor, supposedly b/c mcps has a "reintigration" policy or something like that. Surely, in this post-columbine world this can't be the policy? that a kid making death threats to others isn't even reprimanded or asked to get counselling?
I hate to say this but the police aren't likely to do anything about this. There been told not to interfere in anything school related. My fire da son was stabbed in the neck with a pencil in elementary school. The perp did'nt get so much as a day's suspension and they are still in class together. My formed called the cops and they delayed, ignored, and red-taped him into dropping the issue.
If your kid ever ends up on someone's rape or kill list, they need to be the first name on yours. MCPS and MCPS will not protect your kids.
