I hate to say this but the police aren't likely to do anything about this. There been told not to interfere in anything school related. My fire da son was stabbed in the neck with a pencil in elementary school. The perp did'nt get so much as a day's suspension and they are still in class together. My formed called the cops and they delayed, ignored, and red-taped him into dropping the issue.

If your kid ever ends up on someone's rape or kill list, they need to be the first name on yours. MCPS and MCPS will not protect your kids.

+1 on the idea of the Peace Order. I think mcps is loathe to force students out of classes, etc. without it being legally required (which it could be with a peace order). That said, the kid will still have the girl in his sites, probably more intensely after being punished severely.

Please for the safety of your child and all the kids on these lists, contact the police now, today.

Good admin will handle the situation; less good admin, not so much.

Protect your family, yourself, and the kids and get ahead of it by filing that police report directly with the police. Get a lawyer, call the police, if you have already contacted the school.

File a Bully report and then a police report.

Your friend needs to call the police and make a formal complaint.

She also needs to escalate her formal complaint at school to the Superintendent and the Board of Education, as well as, if she can identify the person, the direct hierarchical superior to her school's Principal. I never know who they are. She has to point out that women have long been an oppressed group, and that the inaction of the school's Principal are contrary to all recent studies that conclude that women need to be heard, supported AND protected in order to be launched into the world on an equal footing as men. That what this male student is perpetrating is psychological assault, which leads to trauma. Your friend would do well to get a psychologist's report saying that her child suffers from anxiety, depression or trauma directly caused by the threats.

Your friend has to demand the expulsion of this boy from school. It might not happen, but hopefully the school will be moved to do SOMETHING more than it is currently doing.

Also, your friend could contact the local news media.

He may have seen the Principal/counselor etc and your friends kid just doesn’t know. Either way, if he’s still talking to her like this your friend needs to escalate to the Police.

Unless you have lived under a rock or never read these forums, you know that IS MCPS policy. Kids get shuffled around and they do not get expelled.
