The Interfaith Clothing Center gives clothing away free to needy people.

What is wrong with goodwill ? Or just find a local dumpster in a quiet apartment complex. That’s where I take all of my trash in contractor bags. Ain’t no one in my neighborhood picking up that stuff

I bring everything wearable to Goodwill, and recycle all the unwearable in the fabric recycling bins in front of the Y.

Because I just know that most “recycled” clothes are not actually recycled. If they are going to be thrown out, I can do that myself.

OP here. Do any of the donation places resell the clothes or give them to people to wear? Like Vietnam Vets or Salvation Army? I’d rather take everything to one place - it’s a variety of sizes and genders.

Try a small thrift store like a hospital run shop.

N Street Village and So Others Might Eat. Martha's Table.

I should say though, that I haven't donated since pre-COVID, so I don't know if their policies have changed.

Buy nothing is good, but know your audience. No one in Chevy chase wants your worn old navy clothes. Post on Facebook marketplace for free and ask for someone who is in serious need. You’ll get a lot of responses but someone who is needy will wear them.

Buy Nothing is good. I've given a bunch of baby and toddler clothes to A Woman's Choice in NoVa. It's a pro-life Catholic org, so realize it may not be this forum's cup of tea, but I liked that they actually put their money where their mouth is and are helping poor moms get baby supplies.

Wider circle doesn’t take clothes.

Try your local buy nothing facebook group. I am surprised at how easy it is to get rid of shit.

I don’t care if they are sold or given away, I would just like them to be worn and not “recycled.”

Everything is in very good condition - the ratty stuff I already tossed.
