+1 I was there in broad daylight last week and didn’t feel safe

Taxi line is safest. It’s the fastest. I wouldn’t leave this up to an Uber driver, tbh. And I also don’t think the metro is where it used to be, either.

Does metro run that late especially if this is a weeknight?
I thought metro is barely functioning with 20-min intervals, reduced trains, staffing problems, single tracking a lot more than usual, etc.

Taxi quickly provides door to door service (unlike waiting outside for an Uber).

I know two people who got mugged on metro, fwiw. Others just watched.

Can't you just go pick her up yourself?

Pp above. I meant “just don’t mess around at union station and dawdle until there are no trains and no other people.”

Basically just stick to the big crowd. I take the train to/from nyc and Richmond and there’s always a big group that gets off at union station even at night so just stick with that crowd, and plenty will go to metro and plenty will go to the cabs so take your pick

It’s safe, just don’t mess around inside union station where there are no trains and just move with the crowds from the train (there is always going to be a big group getting off at US) to the taxi line or to the metro.

Taxi line is always active, there will be several people around after train arrival.

Tax (where there’s a line) or metro. She’ll be fine; it’s not a fun place to hang out but I’ve never felt unsafe no matter when I got in.

Personally I would hop in their waiting taxi line. No waiting around. The scene at Union is very sad.

Metro - saves waiting outside for a car.

Metro should be fine. It is becoming more regularly used again, unlikely to be empty trains where she might feel.unsafe.
