Yep- had a similar experience. Once I indicated that I didn’t want the model that they had on the lot (weird color, no sunroof) the salesman suddenly became very disinterested. I think it was in part because it was mid-December and it wouldn’t count as a 2021 sale for year end bonuses.

You actually are. You are having a car custom-built. Most orders are for specifications that wouldn't otherwise exist on the dealer lot, especially for rarer cars where they may only receive two or three the entire year equipped with the most popular package combinations
