No, I'm still not over it.

Is your kid happy where they are? I mean that sincerely, not as some sort of covert "Get over it!" -- my kid got WLed, and I was miffed on their behalf, but it turned out that was just me.

PP here. Yes, they're happy where they are . I was being a little tongue in cheek. But I really do want to see how Tech handles admissions this year,

Anxiously waiting. I do have more hope that my upper mid-tier stat kid non-STEM kid will get in than a STEM high flyer. If there's any upside to yield protection it's for kids like mine.

Stats?

3.7UW, 3.9W, test optional.

In state or out of state? What program? The broad numbers aren't all that useful without that information for state schools.

In state, Exploratory/Undeclared Liberal Arts

Crapshoot still but much better chances than out of state and/or for a more exclusive program.

Can you say more about this? Assuming they are kept updated, our kid's school scattergram seems pretty clear re VT

I don't have access anymore as my kids graduated last year but heard of several kids who were in the sea of green that were waitlisted and ultimately did not get in. That said, there were kids with lower stats that did get in. It was a very odd year. My kids are now at UVA and VA Tech was their safety, and I'm not even sure they would have gotten in (they withdrew their app due to ED at UVA).
