Any feedback on how crowded the metro is if you go at the edge of rush hour, for example riding around 9/9:30 and returning 4pm? Thank you.

So has Metro presented any timetable for getting the new trains back in service? I'm not commuting yet but will have to in the coming months and I'd much prefer to take Metro than drive in this is getting ridiculous.

I used to take metro 3 days a week to commute. They had issues before the pandemic with lots of delayed trains and single tracking. I am shocked that nothing has been fixed in two years. It looks actually worse. Having trains every 20 minutes during rush hour is a joke. We bought our house on the orange line so that I could commute to DC. It’s too unreliable to even try. I have to be on time at work.

Probably just plan a little extra time in case they aren't running as often. Still one of the best ways to get around, especially to show kids.

Bump. I would like to take the metro with my kids to go to a performance at the Verizon center today. We could drive and park but the metro would be more fun as my 3 y o has never been on the metro. We have not been on the metro since the pandemic. How crowded is it on the weekend? Should I just drive?

When is Bowser non mask mandate goes into effect?

When school lets out, the kids will be kids on Metro.

masking has been good but not 100%. the ventilation in trains and stations are pretty good and you can generally get some distance from people.

Distancing, which isn't that meaningful anyway, is spotty if it gets crowded, but during the week people are pretty good about masking. On the weekends, there are people who don't, many of whom seem to be tourists.

Only because they run one train every 20 minutes.

I personally used to take Metro daily for years and years. I have no interest in doing it again any time soon.

I've taken the metro twice a day, 5 days a week, for the past two years to my in-person job. It's not a problem. And still never got Covid (I am vaccinated and boosted).

It’s crowded at rush hour.

I’ve taken the Metro several times, including yesterday. Everyone has been masked, and people make obvious efforts to maintain distances between each other. I haven’t traveled at rush hour though. You should know that because of the problems with some of the train cars, trains are running much less frequently, and (may?) have only 6 cars. This might pose a problem during times of higher usage or at transfer stations that, by design, handle more people.

in my experience, people are spacing out along the platform and try to maintain as much distance as they can inside the train cars.

I haven't been in literally 2 years. Not thrilled to have to take it but probably have to tomorrow. How has it been pandemic wise? Are people doing a decent job of keeping their distance? I'm able to go an off time at least, but still not thrilled with the idea hahaha.
