Why would you assume the employee will loose her job? I would not at all make that assumption if anything, I would hope the school helps her.

If you work at a school with children and your personal life creates a threat to those children, it's safe to say that you'll at best have a very contentious annual review.

Some jurisdictions have laws against discriminating against victims of domestic violence; I’m not sure if Maryland is one of them.

The school sent an update. "domestic dispute involving someone who works on campus. The police are here. Campus will remain on lockdown until the situation is resolved."
