My guess is many respondents know they either won't be subject to these requirements or when they are it is for very short periods of time. I feel like these questions tell you more about what adults want other people do to than what they want to do. IME most adults are more than happy to take off their own masks the minute the rules allow it.
Your guess would likely be wrong, as the lists I've seen included stuff like taking domestic flights, schools, eating in restaurants, attending concerts, etc., so it seems like things that people would expect to do. And I know a lot of people who can't wait to ditch the masks but want vaccine mandates in their place.
I'll give you domestic flights and concerts. Schools apply to people's children, not themselves. If you have ever eaten indoors at a restaurant you know people have masks off as soon as they sit down so clearly they are referring to the staff. Not sure why you bring up vaccine mandates but I have no problem with them personally. Though there is a reason cities that have used them have gotten rid of them.

While the mask most certainly did not cause her condition (other children in her daycare did not have the same issue - it's not very common), and for a variety of reasons we have kept her in the mask, I do have a lot of concerns about how masks are affecting young children in terms of their speech and social development. Most children will be fine, but we don't know which children will be impacted and often these issues are not identified until later when they are harder to treat.
It's not surprising that I am in the minority. If your child appears to do fine, I get why you would prefer the added security of children wearing masks, even though masks play a relatively small role in preventing transmission of COVID (especially cloth masks worn by young children in child care settings). But, to me, I'm kind of stunned that as a society we made super sure the vaccines were safe, but can't even tolerate simple questions about the potential harms of masking young children.

Parents may also be risk averse because a Covid exposure and/or positive test still means missing a lot of work and childcare. If masking decreases the risk of having to miss work due to lack of childcare, that's no small thing.
