Wait, is supporting dropping mask mandates prohibited activity? I'm pretty psyched that we're nearing the point where they can end, but I'm also a rule follower, and didn't know you were actively deleting posts from those that support dropping mask mandates.

In a thread about masks or mask mandates, it is okay to be for or against. But, I will take a dismal view of a thread explicitly started to oppose mask mandates (mostly because that point of view is already dominating almost any thread that is tangentially related to masks).

I mostly interested in preventing redundancy. So if someone starts a mask thread (doesn't have to be anti-mask necessarily) in a forum that already has a bunch mask threads, please let me know. Also, please report threads that are not really discussing masks, but rather advocating against them. I will probably remove posts of that sort.

I have been deleting those threads pretty much wholesale but I haven't paid much attention to them. So, if there were any patterns, I didn't see them.

From what I have observed, there is very little in the manner of organized efforts to post on DCUM. Rather, informal networks develop on various social networks, but especially Facebook. Information is disseminated through those informal networks and recipients choose on their own to post in additional places. Some of those individuals choose to post on DCUM. Anti-mask and anti-mandates networks are really active these days (see how they are rallying around the Canadian truckers) and we are seeing the side effects of that.

In the last week or so there seems to be a somewhat organized regular amount of 'anti-mask' positing in the school forums and other forums on the site, all pushing an anti-mask policy with a bit of gusto; celebrating every school or location that has dropped a mask requirement, trumpeting this story or that about masks.

It seems kind of organized.

Have you been noticing anything like this lately?
