Exactly- if these kids were recruited specifically to Wes, there is always a chance that admissions doesn't agree with the coach, but that ends their athletic career unless they were negotiating with other schools (not typical if ED). ALso reading several instances of Wes also deferring kids from ED1 to ED2 and then denying them ED2. This practice removed the opportunity to ED2 elsewhere and totally placed them in a bind, because if they said no to being moved to ED2 and asked for RD, that would have been automatic denial. So if they still wanted Wes after ED1, sticking with Wes moving them to ED2 was their only choice. Pretty crappy tactics coming out of Wesleyan.
