Agree with PPs, not much is negotiable and access to multiple locations costs more. In addition to some companies offering a slightly discounted group rate, at one time you could get the group rate if you pulled together a group of 5-6 people to join.

Which DC location are you interested in? Sports Club DC (Georgetown) was a different gym that was taken over by Equinox so it doesn't have the same Equinox look. In comparison to Bethesda, Anthem Row has a different vibe (hipper, and likely younger crowd). If you are interested in group classes, a number of instructors teach at both Bethesda and Anthem Row. There's also instructor overlap between Tysons (the red-headed stepchild of Equinox's DC locations) and Bethesda. Before you decide if you want to pay for access to multiple clubs, I'd suggest you visit the ones you are interested in to get a feel for them and, if group fitness, is important check class schedules. Also note that some have amenities that others do not. For example, Bethesda has the precision run treadmills that are very, very nice and easy on your joints (like woodways but even better) and offers the most Precision Run classes, if that's of interest to you. I don't think any other club in the area has the precision run treadmills but that could have changed over the last year.

I've been a member for a long time and it is 100% worth it for me because the group fitness classes are the best. Actually nothing I've taken at another gym or any of the fitness apps I've tried (tried most when I put my membership on hold in early covid) comes even close. Great staff.

That's interesting. I can't see myself going even halfway to work on the weekends though.

If you work for a big company, see if they have a discount with Equinox. Many do.

There really isn't much negotiating available. You can get them to waive the initiation fee, but that's about it. You only get one location unless you want to pay more. I belong to the Bethesda location and like it. It is very expensive though.
