We took every precaution (metformin, cabergoline, Hetastarch, diet) except for changing the trigger. I kept asking is it really a good idea to trigger with HCG, but my RE insisted. I was very high risk for OHSS (estrogen >5000 the day before trigger) and managed to avoid it. I got 22 eggs from my retrieval.
I have PCOS, which I was told increased my risk.
I'm sorry. Hopefully it passes quickly.
Are you doing a fresh transfer? You can't do that with a Lupron trigger.

Thank you! I asked my doctor about Lupron and she wasn't keen. I'm going to ask her to explain why she's against it in my case. Do you think avoiding sugar helps? I know Gatorade has a lot of sugar, but I'm sensitive to aspartame and I don't like the taste of Gatorade Zero.Anonymous wrote:Tomato juice, Gatorade. Also, they can (almost) eliminate the risk of OHSS by using a Lupron trigger rather than hcg.
I'm on metformin and starting with low-dose protocol. I'm just curious about natural things I can do at home to help.Anonymous wrote:I'm starting stims and I'm at high risk for OHSS. Was there a certain amount of fluids, Gatorade vs. coconut water, or particular foods that helped you prevent OHSS?
