I took my child to a playground at a public park today and we were having a great time until someone showed up with a large, barely controlled dog. It was dragging the woman holding the leash all over the place and barking at people and other dogs. At first they kept the dog around the periphery of the playground but eventually brought it onto the playground near the kids. I get that people may want to bring the family dog along to the playground, but if your dog is barely under your control and barking and snarling like crazy, why would you do this? It seemed like a ticking time bomb to me so I left a lot earlier than I had planned on.
This sounds strangely close to another recent post.
Ha! I actually thought of that post in the moment but this wasn’t a trainer, it was clearly a family that had brought their poorly trained dog with them.

Anonymous wrote:In DC I have seen people bring dogs onto the school playgrounds and let the dogs lap up water from the children's water fountains. I imagine if the dog pooped on the playground turf, the owner would pick it up... but isn't that gross anyway. The dog owners run the dogs on kids' athletic fields! They walk straight past the "no dogs on athletic fields" sign, because they are very special people with special dogs, and rules do not apply to them. It's disgusting. Dog owners seem really thoughtless to me, whether the dog is aggressive or not.
