It’s mostly young but a wide age range can be found at times. I’m in my 40s and sometimes go with friends as a night out but we don’t do much in the way of “meeting people” even though we’d kind of like to.
I don’t think you and your wife need to worry about seeming creepy though.

And I think(?) another one might have opened up somewhere.
I’ve had way better luck meeting people on several DC lesbian groups on Meetup.
Guess it depends on the type of scene you are looking for.
