The list will definitely move if someone declines a spot. You probably won’t see the movement until after the initial two weeks for everyone with offers to accept/decline are up, though.

Yes. My child was I think 5th on the waitlist for a 9th grade slot and knew or heard of other kids declining the spot and then got the call exactly as predicted. But I think if a kid lives mid year they don’t necessarily fill the slot until the next year.

If someone from your kid's school who got a spot turns it down, does the wait list for your school necessarily move? We know a family who got a spot and they are unexpectedly moving out of the area. I am just wondering if the list will definitely move or if the school could decide they want to take one less kid (or offer that spot to some connected VIP). thanks all!!!
