The last time I was happy with something like this, I had some leftover ribs. The kids didn't like them because they were not soft and "fall off the bone", but were a little tough. So I took the ribs, deboned, shredded, and poached them in beef stock with an extra half onion and some baby carrots from the vegetable bin, then made a gravy from some leftover Korean BBQ sauce, added some frozen broccoli and made a box of instant mash potatoes and we had Korean BBQ shepherd's pie. The whole family loved it much better than the original ribs and I salvaged what was an unsuccessful purchase!
