I'm a vegetarian.

::checks notes:: yep, broccoli is still considered "safe" for vegetarians.

Broccoli cooked with chicken is not vegetarian.

Try Gourmet Inspirations in Wheaton. They are more than happy to willing to help with picky eating and really vegetarian friendly (speaking from experience).

Can you just pick out the broccoli or ask for another vegetable he will eat?

NP. Some vegetarians don’t care to eat broccoli that has been cooked with chicken.

This really they don’t. In fact, yea for them. They get to charge you same price and use less ingredients

Homestyle chicken with mixed veggies - no broccoli.

Mushrooms, bell peppers, sea weed, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, cabbage, scallions, carrots...

I order my kids chicken lo mein "without vegetables" all the time. I think the Chinese restaurant order person has probably seen it all.

You could also ask for the broccoli on the side without sauce, then you could just eat it however you wanted.

For American style take out Chinese food... My picky kid likes the chicken in chicken and broccoli, but not the broccoli. I'm assuming it's rude to order it without the broccoli, so is there another dish that is mostly a similar style chicken (not fried) and sauce without the veggies? There are rarely menu descriptions so Im not sure what to ask for. And I'm a vegetarian, so if he doesn't like it it'll end up going to waste.
