Not OP, but I'd love to see other online store recommendations for prom

You don't have to join the conversation if you're not interested

OP, My DD (a few years ago now) got a great dress on sale at Macy's. They had a surprising amount of dresses on sale then. Not sure what it'll be like this year but maybe there will be sales as well.

As for the posters yapping about one time use -- my DD wore it to senior prom, then wore it for the hell of it to an outing with friends over the summer where they all decided to dress up, then took the dress to college where she's worn it for two events (at her not-at-all formal college) and as part of a Halloween costume too. So a prom dress doesn't have to be some one-and-done throwaway if your kid is willing to dress up some and has some imagination. It helps to choose a dress that's not full-length, though.

Looks trashy and cheap

So perfect for prom based on what I've seen around here.

+1 Windsor-so pretty!

Really?they are so cheaply made.

perfect for prom's single use

Eh - wasteful. It I sent as if they look well made and are cheaply made so lasting one time works for some. It’s that they look cheaply made, are cheaply made and don’t last. So a girl wearing one, looks like she’s in a cheaply made dress.

You might have luck online, there seem to be more dresses online for both Macy’s and places like ASOS and shein.

For Macy’s.com, you can return it in store.

Also check bloomies and Nordstrom too.

Anyone have any stores they would recommend? Lord and Taylor used to be our go-to, but they're now closed. We could also go to Dulles Town Center Mall. Thanks!
