I’m 30 and NIPT was fully covered last September. I did it at 10w+2 and got results/found out gender at 11w+1.

Nope, I’m 32 and my insurance fully covered it in December.

I am not AMA and have had NIpT covered twice by insurance.

I have had the NIPT twice under 35. One time I paid the negotiated OOP rate (like $150 I think?) and the other time it was covered. I'm not high risk.

10 weeks for NIPT. Though my results this time took almost 2 weeks to come in so it was really 12 weeks. Supposedly there is backlog like with everything else. With the previous kid I think I got my results in just a few days.

I’m surprised to see 10 weeks from some people! My OB doesn’t do NIPT testing until 12 weeks so it’s less of a chance of there not being enough fetal fraction. Even at 12 weeks, my fetal fraction was 7.7% so I doubt 10 weeks would have had enough!

This is what I did. We initially agreed that we wouldn't find out the gender until the baby was born, but when I got the email results of the NIPT and could simply click the link to find out the gender, I couldn't help myself. Lol.

How old are you? I was offered the fetal dna blood work, but I think I had to pay for it so I just waited. It may be more standard now because my youngest is 5. It may also be covered if you are over a certain age. It's mainly to look for genetic conditions, but will also tell you if they find a Y chromosome which is how you know if it's a boy or a girl.

You can do it at 10 weeks. Most insurance will cover it for AMA or if you have certain risk factors. Sometimes insurance will require you get it done at a certain lab like labcorp. It is just a blood draw and then you wait a few days for the results to come back.

This is my second pregnancy and I’m with GWU MFA. When I was pregnant in 2016-2017 the first time with my twins, I didn’t find out genders until the 20 week anatomy scan. But since then I feel like I have had friends who were able to find out the gender much earlier through bloodwork. When is that typically done and has anyone done that recently who goes to GWU MFA for OB care?
