Iirc there is good boat snorkeling there. We stayed elsewhere but took a boat to offshore there. Might be shore snorkeling in a group.

Headed to Club Med Cancun in a few days. Picked it based on kid amenities and direct flight. But haven’t done anything like this with the kids before.

Oh, just saw it was completely rebuilt....I was there several years ago....

Beach at Club Med Cancun is nice but we felt like the facility itself was very run down.

We are looking at Beaches in Turks & Caicos or Club Med Punta Cana. Kids 5 and 10.

- have heard that Beaches is great but the Sesame Street angle is too babyish for both my kids
- Club Med PC was just completely rebuilt and will be brand new when we go but I’ve heard that the food is eh (not that we’re expecting miraculous food from either) and that Beaches has better options as CM is really just 3 options.

Does anyone have perspective?

I’ve been to both Beaches in Jamaica (Ocho Rios and Negril) as well as Club Med Cancun (just this year). Best beach is Negril by far. I liked the European aspect of Club Med, though. A little more low key; fewer loud boozy day drinking Americans; People dressed for dinner at night, nothing fancy, but sundresses and chinos, not t shirts and flip flops. But really the biggest is the age of your kids. Beaches has a fun waterpark for little kids, and the Sesame Street shows, and I think the little kids camp is probably more impressive. Club Med is better about things like arranging beach volleyball games and pool activities. And the kids can do archery and circus school (trapeze). We went to beaches when our kids were little, like up to 7 or 8. Now that they are 10 and 12, Club Med is better.

Club Med Cancun has nice beaches b/c they are on the end of that Cancun peninsula. Another plus is the closeness to the airport. The pool is eh but there is enough other stuff to keep you busy. The biggest con for us was that a large portion of people were French or French Canadian so my kids only spent about 3 hours a day at the Kids Club becuase they had a little more trouble making friends who mostly spoke French (as opposed to CLub Med Sandpiper where they spent all day and some nights there!) Overall we really enjoyed this property. Haven't been to Beaches.

No personal experience, but I think the beaches are better in Jamaica than Cancun.

Booking Spring Break and can't decide between Beaches Jamaica or Club Med Cancun. Any experiences?
