Abercrombie?
It’s not 1995
Have you shopped recently? Abercrombie is enjoying a HUGE renaissance - it's very popular with college students, etc. The blatant branding is no more, and teens love their denim especially.

Second vote for American Eagle and Athleta. My dd isn’t tall but both of these stores have more modest options than UO. She also likes UO but it is hit or miss for her too.
Zara is good for tall girls.

Mango clothing. But they are online. Also Zara. But we prefer MANGO. Very cool, appropriate, modern, euro style that not many teens wear around here. Most Americanized brands suck. So we steer toward brands made in Spain or England.

My kid likes Lulus (lulus.com), American Eagle, Poshmark, Athleta, and thrift stores.

My DD likes Brandy Melville and PacSun. There’s also a store near us called Journeys that has good tshirts. She wanted to get stuff from Shein but we had a couple of talks about why it’s so cheap and she let go of that. Teens like Francesca’s too.
I never really made any rules other than “I won’t buy it for you unless you try it on first and show me.” I’m fine with ripped jeans, showing belly, etc. I remember being 13 -18 and how I wanted to dress.

Consider Stitch Fix or similar and try on at home?

Where can I take my teen daughter shopping for trendy but appropriate school clothes? She gets overwhelmed when trying on clothes at places like urban outfitter because the skirts are super short on tall thin girls and many of the fitted tops show her belly or a lot of cleavage. She’s got an intense class load and neither of us need the drama of arguing about what’s appropriate so I would like to go to stores with a higher success rate even if I have to pay more. She’s feminine and into fashion. I would also appreciate advice on setting appropriate boundaries for school and weekend clothes. Please no judgment - I get enough of that.
