I prefer a 2 piece because it's.more practical. But... I end up wearing a one piece most of the time because I have a lot of loose saggy skin around my belly button that I would rather not have to worry about flapping around when I bend over.
So if you can wear it, why not?

You have a bikini body if you have a body and put a bikini on it. Stop worrying what other people MIGHT think.

Wear what you want. At some point, a bathing suit should get to be a practical clothing item. That's what it is for men and most middle aged men don't stress over the length of their swim suits or whether they wear a t shirt or a rash guard or whatever. I am a mom and wear a bikini sometimes and a one-piece sometimes, and mostly realized that it just doesn't matter. I do have tell-tale signs of pregnancy on my body, including some loose skin on my tummy. I'm not excited when I see it highlighted in a photo but I'm not going to stick to Miracle suits or something to hide it. It's just my body, which is imperfect and also no one's business.
I did wind up buying a new one-piece last year for the first time in a while and was enthusiastic to find that there are a lot better options for cute one-piece suits these days. I could see that influencing me to wear them more in the future. I found a really cute wrap style suit that has a relatively low-cut leg (which I like, it looks best on my body) without looking super old-fashioned or dowdy. But I'm wearing it because it's a cute swimsuit that makes me feel good, not because I'm ashamed of my little belly.

I'm 56 and wear a bikini. I workout and am proud of my body. Do I look like a 25 year old in a bikini? No, of course not - but I look damn good.

If you can, Rick it. I did until I was about 42. Now at 46, my stomach has some fat and i don’t want to have to suck it in all of the time. Lots of moms also have stretch marks they don’t want to show.

I find bikinis more flattering to me. I wear high waisted bottoms to cover loose skin from babies. The top provides as much coverage as a sports bra so definitely not a sexy look, but a flattering, practical look.

It’s unlikely you are not offending and if you are, should you care?
I wore a one-piece when my kids were young because they were always jumping and hanging on me and I found it more comfortable for bending and chasing and general wrangling. Back to the two-piece now.

No I think it’s just that a large share of women prefer to hide their tummies so they wear one pieces.
I’m like you, bigger on the bottom (4/6) and it isn’t easy for me to find one pieces I like. I have a few but I also wear bikinis. That said the bikinis I wear now are different than the ones I wore in high school.

A lot of moms have loose skin or a "pooch" on their stomach so they don't want to expose that. Even if they look skinny in jeans or high-waisted pants, the loose skin may be sort of hidden.
I wear bikinis too (and am also a flat-chested mom), including at the country club. No one's offended.

Is there some unwritten rule about moms wears bikinis at the pool?
I take my kids to community pools and almost always wear a bikini. Not skimpy or anything…just a comfortable two piece with a full coverage bottom. One pieces just don’t look right on me (flatchested, tall, size 4 on top and 8 on the bottom) and it’s hard to find one to suit my (average looking) body. I also find it easier to maneuver the locker room wet bathing suit changes with a two piece.
Am I offending people by wearing a bikini? Most moms of all shapes and sizes seem to be wearing one pieces. I’ve never viewed bikinis as sexy (well except for those stringy or Brazilian cut ones).
