Pretty snobby.

That’s the entire reason the option elementary schools exist.

+1. Also zoned for Drew, also attend, very pleased with it.

I live in new construction south of 50 near Columbia pike.

We send our kids to private school but I’d say about half the families in new 1.2M+ houses near the pike send their kids to the local public. I hear very good things about Barcroft Elementary in particular.

In our immediate neighborhood, which is townhomes in the 500k range, not $1 million homes, so take that as you will - of the kids in k-3 that we know: 2 go to Montessori Public School; 2 go to Drew; 2 to Campbell; 2 to parochial; 2 to other private; 1 homeschool.

Hoffman Boston and Fleet are decent schools. We were re-zoned to Drew and went private.

We also were at one of those schools and went private, as did several neighbors.

Fleet is a great school with a mix of income levels.

I used to work at Randolph and there were a handful of the wealthier kids, especially in the younger grades. I was always surprised at how many older/childless people were living in Douglas Park, even in the newly renovated/rebuilt homes.

I've noticed over the last decade that there are a number of very expensive new homes being built just north and south of Columbia Pike, east of South George Mason Drive.

For those living in the $1M+ homes, where are they sending their elementary school age children to school?

The local public elementary schools such as Hoffman-Boston, Randolph, Henry, etc?
Private schools?
Homeschooling?

Just curious.
