As other said apply and find out. Mcps is already under staffed so that will be a factor in how many spaces will have in a virtual program, especially knowing that for some families if they don't get virtual they might not necessarily enroll their kids in person they might just choose to homeschool or do some other independent virtual program.

Don't know if it's permanent but I'm guessing that they are going to take applications in order to determine staffing

Why not? It’s a good option for those students who may benefit from a virtual option. I see it as a positive, and as long as there is demand, it may be good idea to continue it.

That was the plan as of last year. Things can change, of course!
A lot of people prefer virtual compared to in person. Lot of good teachers and students are making a lot of progress as well.
Virtual will continue as long as there is demand.
