Restaurant was three-sides plus a roof streatery, with heat lamps. We wore warm clothes and shoes. The restaurant provided blankets, which is unusual, but you could bring your own. Temps were around 25.

Where was this?

Every restaurant in NYC has this. Wish places here would take note.

Exactly. I bought those emergency mylar blankets they give out for marathons on Amz for $1 each. They fold up so small, you can always carry in a small purse. Order hand warmers while you are at it.

King Street Oyster Bar at Park Potomac has a big tented bar with heaters. Because it is a bar, everyone is facing one way.

We get takeout on our patio and have friends over with a patio heater and electric blankets and a firepit.....

Igloos are great. It’s not shared space and sanitized. Dress appropriately for weather.

Perhaps go for lunch, to a place that has outdoor seating in the sun. Even in cold weather, the sun makes a huge difference. Wear wool socks, layers, and a warm hat. Wear gloves when not eating.

We just do take out, but we live near SER in ballston and I have seen people sitting outside in all kinds of weather. Not sure if that means there outdoor heaters are great or people are just tough. But they do have some impressive looking heaters, and not a tent (so very safe).

In dc, Del Mar has igloos and they are sanitized after every use. Looks nice.

Le vie has igloos as well and cabanas at field and main if you venture to Virginia.

Why not bundle up and do coffee / hot chocolate outside?

Not really, because if you eat inside a tent, it's the same sort of risk as eating indoors.

Are there any restaurants that have come up with a way to do this that works? Even now, when it is quite cold outside? I would like to join a friend for dinner, but would rather not sit inside (with other unmasked patrons). No public health advice needed, thank you. I am just asking if you have eaten outside in Montgomery County MD since December and enjoyed the experience (from a temperature perspective). Thanks guys.
