I had to stay on the phone for an hour and twenty minutes, but yes. When they tell you you agreed to a contract, ask to see a copy. They don't have it and will let you off.

I was. I’d already signed up with a new company and by the time I was actually able to cancel, they’d lowered my bill from $50/month to $10/month. They really don’t want to lose customers.

I remember calling on my commute home from work one day (which was an hour long) but that was pre-covid. If you work from home, just call and sit on hold when you are sitting at your desk and working. Add when they answer just tell them you're moving vs changing monitoring companies. You'll get less pushback.

You also have to cancel at the end of the contract date or they charge you for the remainder of time you have. Who can remember that if you have had them for years? They are the worst and won’t get my money again.

I just know their services suck. We canceled years ago. Couldn't deal with the terrifying / annoying alarm malfunctions . Good luck. These business practices of some of these companies are just criminal themselves .

We've had ADT for over 10 years and want to cancel. Apparently, you have to cancel on the phone with a live human. After several long holds (20 minutes plus), I refuse to waste any more time waiting for the privilege of cancelling. While on hold, I googled "cancel ADT" and read a bunch of horror stories about how difficult ADT makes it to cancel their service. Has anyone had recent experience cancelling? What did you say/do?
