OP here - we are in Robinson. I haven't seen anything so far to make me think it's any better than our ES was.

Kinda like the way Mclean should because all the Mclean money goes elsewher so their schools are about as close to private as one you could hope. So that would be a start. My next step would be something like O'Connel or Paul VI-cheaper than independent but still good and they do not care if you are not Catholic.

Anonymous wrote:DS went from public to private in elementary, and has only one more year of our (somewhat) affordable private. There is no way we can afford private HS. Our local is FCPS, and our experience with their elementary was not great. When DS went to private, he was so far behind that he struggled just to pass basic subjects (he did well in fcps). There is just no comparison in terms of how much better the curriculum is and how much more he is learning. I'm really unhappy about having to send him to public high school, and our high school is ok but not even one of the really desirable ones like Mclean. Anyone else in this position?
