I can't speak to the council, but as you well know, they are not DC government employees and are not in the Mayor's cabinet.

What’s this now?

What’s funny is how far the tables have turned on this rhetoric. As an R, I say keep shouting this from the rooftops until November. Heck, I’d write an op-ed for you to place with that as the title.

It’s your own party now trying to silence you. Science hasn’t changed, but the politics sure have.

What are you prattling on about? Can you make a point and not speak entirely in meaningless cliches?

They don’t need to protect themselves anymore. It’s time to move on.

I got my car inspected two weeks ago by DMV employees who were on the job, working outside in the cold no less.

This only accentuates the fact that our highest paid government employees and elected reps are still at home, fully vaccinated, as the District faces urgent challenges.

Is Contee not highly paid? Who are the highly paid people who are still at home? All DC government employees are required to be in the office with a max of 2 telework days if appropriate.

If that's true, it applies only to regular GS employees. Deputy mayors, DCPS leadership, agency offices of the general counsel, the office of the attorney general....all at home.

If that is the policy, it is not being followed.

Deputy mayors, DCPS leadership, general counsels' office for most agencies, office of the attorney general...

D.C. is still under Public Emergency orders (not even talking about the Public Health Emergency order) until midnight tonight. If the Mayor extends it, I guarantee the Council is not meeting in-person until its over.

Don't care but the VA Assembly is in-person. There's no reason for the D.C. Council not to be in-person. Also no reason for the federal government not to be in-person either.

In the face of a violent crime crisis, a homelessness catastrophe and serious DCPS concerns, how much longer are we going to tolerate D.C. Government via Zoom? Council members and the mayor's cabinet put themselves at the front of the line for vaccines over a year ago, but they're all still at home.

The Mayor is out and about but her highest-paid appointees are at home.

We constantly try to compare ourselves to states but the legislature of every other state in the Union is meeting in person. Our reps have to drive just a few miles to the Wilson Building, but that's apparently asking too much.
