Yes. Our ceremony was in the morning. Reception was in the evening. My dress for the ceremony was definitely not something I could have danced in. We did one slow dance and I could feel it pulling. I wore a fun breathable dress for the reception and danced my heart out for four hours straight. That dress was no worse for the wear. I would have torn the morning dress.

My daughter wore her wedding dress through MOST of her reception.
With about half an hour to go before the end of the reception, she changed into a long white halter dress. It was easier for her to ride in the car in the halter dress than her wedding gown.

It was not an expensive dress, but she still looked stunning in it. But, I'm her mom. She looks stunning no matter what she wears.

My sister did. He reasoning was do she could dance more easily. She's a little extra and princessy I'm general though...the dress was cute don't think she paid a lot for it

This was me, it wouldn't have made sense. But I could see the appeal if your wedding is very formal, religious, long and full of ceremony. I've been to a few of those and the bride changed from a very, very formal (puffy, heavy, long etc) dress into a more fun, sexy reception dress for dancing.

This seems like more of a fashion question.

I wouldn’t want to wear a different dress to the reception. I loved my wedding gown so much it made me a little sad when I finally had to take it off. So I am definitely in the camp of wearing the same dress to both the wedding and the reception.

I’m interested in insight into the thoughts of people who wore more than one dress or outfit on their wedding day.
