You specifically mentioned FCV, so there is that. FCV is also GA and not ECNL, so there is also that.

Arlington, like Loudoun, chooses a more athletic brand of soccer.

Bethesda youth coaches are big time screamers but play a decent style of soccer.

McLean, big rosters, play a nice brand of soccer that yields success in later ages.

This is helpful thanks! What's with the bigger rosters? Is McLean the only club that does that? And when you say McLean is that the same thing as Virginia Union for the girls in ECNL right?

Yes, Union and McLean are the same.

As far as bigger rosters go I don’t know, it’s just what is always brought up. My guess is if people are that unhappy they’ll leave.

The rosters are likely nothing more than dual roster situations with the top B team players.

McLean used to have success in the later ages when they could recruit whoever they wanted. Those days are over. Loudoun has the best 09 and VDA has the best 08. Probably the best indicator of how the 2010 team will be. The landscape has changed a lot over the last four years.

Did you not read the part about moving to DC? VDA is not an option.

Depending on where in DC you’re moving to your best options would be any of the following, Arlington, Bethesda and McLean.

Arlington seems to be the obvious choice of moving to DC

Add BRYC, Loudoun - ECNL. But ECNL R Vienna and others. Depends where you live and willing to commute. Many to chose from at that age.

A GA over ECNL club is hilarious. If you are really from Souther Cal you wouldn’t even entertain the thought.
