I stick to more traditional oils, olive mostly. I don't trust canola oil or anything else that is highly genetically engineered.

I use extra virgin olive oil for almost everything. I also use unprocessed leaf lard, butter, duck fat, and ghee occasionally.

"New UC Riverside research shows soybean oil not only leads to obesity and diabetes, but could also affect neurological conditions like autism, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety, and depression."

"Canola oil is one of the most widely consumed vegetable oils, yet little is known about its health effects. Now, a study links canola oil consumption in the diet with worsened memory, worsened learning ability and weight gain in mice which model Alzheimer's disease. It's the first study to suggest that canola oil is more harmful than healthful for the brain."

"Some 'healthy' vegetable oils may actually increase risk of heart disease"

Researchers are finding that these oils are driving the diabetes and obesity epidemic, not to mention the inflammation problems.

I keep hearing more and more about how horrible seed oils really are. Yet school lunches are loaded up on them, as is just about ALL ready to eat food (except FRESH unprocessed foods).
