Only one kid that I have heard about being accepted so far from DC's large public is a legacy...(at least one higher stats kid from same school was deferred).

Looking at CC, most posting there were postponed (deferred). A few accepted. No one saying they were declined outright.

No, I think that is Michigan's way of saying deferred. Is your kid high stats? They are notorious for yield protection and will defer and wl.
